DICK'S Sporting Goods

My grandson needed a minor repair on a bike we bought at Dick’s a few months back. When we arrived at the store, they said the bicycle repairman wasn’t scheduled to work for another hour. We went to the bike section and met with a sales associate, Rashaad. He said there was a manager that was working, who used to be the bicycle repairman and was now sales manager. He checked with the manager, Luis, who took time out of his administrative duties to fix my grandson‘s bicycle promptly. We really appreciated both of those young men who took time out of their day to help us. Thanks!

This review is for the shoe department, and the 3 stars are only for Taj. My family went to buy soccer cleats on 7/27 around 3:30; the tall man with glasses and dreadlocks acted sarcastically when my husband asked him to try on a pair of cleats. He said "sure" like we were bothering him. He went in the back, came out, and just started talking to other coworkers and was leaning on shoes. He never came back with our cleats or nothing, he was just talking and leaning on those shoes like he wasn't at work. Taj noticed us looking around and asked if we needed help. He was very friendly and helpful. Shout out to Taj!

I’ve never really had an issue with customer service at Dick’s Sporting Goods until my most recent visit. I came in looking for a new bike pedal and went to the bike department for help. Since I’m not very knowledgeable about bikes, I asked if there was a different size pedal available. Instead of simply explaining that bike pedals are a standard size, the older employee working in the bike department sighed at me and responded with an attitude that made me feel embarrassed for asking a simple question. I was so uncomfortable that I asked my father to speak with him instead, but he was met with the same rude attitude. I understand that not every customer knows how bikes work. that’s literally why we ask employees for help. A simple, respectful explanation would have been appreciated. I’ve always had positive experiences at this store, so this interaction was especially disappointing. I hope management addresses this and reminds employees that patience and courtesy go a long way in providing good customer service.

I only went here (not this store, but the entire chain) because my daughter wanted to get her son's baseball glove broken in. I personally stopped going to this chain when a few years back they stopped selling firearms and ammunition in some misguided political stand. Not to mention, in my opinion, I think they're pricey. 2 stars for the large selection of expensive merchandise.
